BPI/MS Marks Its 15th Anniversary
Published on February 23, 2017
With the theme, “Providing insurance you can trust.”, BPI/MS celebrated its 15th Anniversary last February 1, 2017. High spirit was felt as the entire company joins in the one joyful celebration.
The anniversary opened in solemnity with the Holy Mass at the 18th floor, the new executive office. The mass was presided by Rev. Fr. Paolo Pirlo of Sons of Holy Mary Immaculate.
During the mass, BPI/MS officers and staff from different departments served in the liturgy as readers, choir members, and altar server to signify the unity of the celebration.
Providing Insurance You Can Trust
In his Anniversary Message, President and CEO Kenichi Tanabe reflected on the company’s growth, stability and foundation of trust. “We began in the year 2002; our employees were fewer than 300. BPI/MS Head Office occupied only 2 floors in this
building – 11th and 16th Floors. Throughout the 15 years, BPI/MS have endured several tests of resiliency with calamities like Ondoy in 2009, Habagat in 2012 and Yolanda in 2013. In times of need, our clients can depend on us”, he said.
Mr. Tanabe also took the opportunity to express his sincerest gratitude to MSI and BPI for guidance and stability, to clients who have trusted the company for protection of their properties and to employees and business partners for commitment, loyalty, dedication and hardwork.
Celebrating the 15th Anniversary
February 1 was a remarkable day to everyone at BPI/MS Insurance as it turns 15 in the insurance industry. Head office and nationwide branches welcomed the employees, guests and clients with red, gold and white pillar balloons and an anniversary banner at the entrance. BPI/MS employees were also treated to free buffet lunch and afternoon snacks. Throughout the month
BPI/MS booths were stationed at the ground floor lobby and 8th floor canteen of BPI-Philam Life Makati and on different worksite locations such as BPI Head Office, BFB Head Office, BPI Buendia Center and BPI Card Center. The anniversary booth activation was set to serve the non-life insurance needs and inquiries of fellow Unibankers. Special gifts are given to the Unibankers who inquired and applied for the BPI/MS products.

BPI/MS Supports #MMShakeDrill and #Pagyanig
Published on June 21, 2016
The Philippines experiences typhoons and earthquakes regularly as we are surrounded by bodies of water and is located along the Pacific Ocean’s “Ring of Fire”. Being prepared is the key to surviving a disaster – whether it’s a typhoon, earthquake or fire.
The second Metro Manila Shake Drill is an earthquake simulation exercise headed by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). It will be held on June 22, Wednesday, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, simultaneously with the national government’s Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill. The activity is aimed to prepare citizens for the “Big One”, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake caused by the movement of the West Valley fault.
The MMDA is calling out to motorists to expect heavy traffic during the simulation and to take alternative routes. This includes the closing of the Guadalupe Bridge for two hours. The agency has also launched a website, www.mmshakedrill.ph, to raise public awareness about the 2016 Metro Manila Shake Drill. The public can also visit the website to sign up and participate whether as individuals or as a group.
Prioritizing safety and protection, BPI/MS Insurance Corporation will be participating in this year’s Metro Manila Shake Drill. Employee Marshals are briefed to be alert and to be knowledgeable in identifying and responding to worst scenarios/events. To show our support to the government in keeping our clients, employees and stakeholders safe, here is a guide for earthquake preparedness and survival tips.
BPI/MS launches My Safe Drive App
Published on March 10, 2016
An average of 10,000 road accidents happens every year and is expected to rapidly increase in the years to come. This statistics sounds alarming as most accidents are caused by drivers’ error and distractions.
BPI/MS Insurance Corporation, a joint venture of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, has released an innovative new smartphone application called “My Safe DriveTM”. Powered by iOnRoad, this app aims to promote safer and smarter driving in the Philippines.
Using a smartphone’s built-in camera, global positioning system (GPS) and smart software, My Safe DriveTM combines navigation, speeding, near-collision and lane departure alerts with driving analytics in a user-friendly app. It can also locate the parking location through GPS and reviews fuel consumption.
The “My Safe DriveTM” app is further proof that BPI/MS is committed to providing its clients and the public with reliable and innovative insurance as it launch the app by inviting the media to experience My Safe DriveTM in real time while driving different car models from partner automotive dealers (Toyota Manila Bay Corporation, Isuzu Automotive Dealership, Inc. – Alabang, Cavite, Pasig, Rizal, Honda Cars Makati, Inc. – Makati, Pasig, Alabang, Shaw, Global City, Hyundai Pasig – Bonifacio Motors, and Chevrolet Philippines – The Covenant Car Company, Inc.).
The media convoy travelled from Bonifacio Global City in Taguig to Nuvali in Santa Rosa, Laguna and the results are satisfactory. Media launch was hosted by car racer/TV and radio personality Sam YG, who gave it a thumbs-up on Instagram.
BPI/MS My Safe DriveTM is available for both iOS and Android devices. Download via the App Store and Google Play.

In connection with the much awaited re-launch of BPI/MS website comes the next big part of company's branding, the mascot fondly called Hiro.
The mascot was conceptualized and born to resemble a man who gives importance to his family, properties and business protecting them the way a hero does.
Hiro serves as the brand ambassador of BPI/MS Insurance. An animated brand ambassador was developed from the descent of the company, Mitsui Sumitomo, a Japanese insurance firm.
He is currently seen in our product brochures together with other animated characters including his wife and kids.
